#1. Bachmann Climax pulling a consist of scratch built log cars, scrap load gondola and scratch built loggers caboose at Jim & Sylvia Eldridge’s 2007 BTS bus tours.

#2. Bachmann Climax with Phoenix sound pulling a scratch built logging train.

#3. My ‘ultimate’ motorized Combine pulling an unqualified South Pacific Coast consist.  I started with a Bachmann combine kit and added an Engineer’s cab area in front.  I used USA Trains powered trucks and lots of interior details in the cargo as well as passenger areas.  Model is complete with Model A Ford motor and infamous Ahooga horn sounds.

#4. Kit bashed 0-4-4 T Forney.  I started with an LGB Stainz 0-4-0 locomotive, replaced the cab with an LGB Mogul cab and used the rear portion of an LGB tender with working rear light.  The added rear truck is from Ryan and has track power pickups with Gary Raymond metal wheels.  The front and rear bumpers were scratch built from Bass wood with details from Ozark Miniatures and Trackside Details.  KaDee couplers are used throughout the entire consist.

This scratch built flat car has a logger’s cabin made from popsicle sticks and houses a Phoenix sound system.  It is followed by a scratch built logging consist made of bass wood, Ozark Miniature log bunks, chains & chain binders with Shortline Car & Foundry’s trucks and wheels.

This consist is pictured here running on Jim & Sylvia Eldridge’s layout for the 2007 BTS bus tours.

#5. This gondola is made from redwood and carries a load of extraneous railroad junk.  The loggers caboose was scratch built from basswood and other stuff around the shop and is mounted on an LGB 4043 frame with Gary Raymond metal wheels.  The steps & working rear light are from Ozark Miniatures.

#6. Hartland motor car altered with MDC’s Model A Ford front assembly pulling a scratch built gondola containing the Model A Ford motor sound and Ahooga horn.

#7. Bachmann railcar with Aristo-Craft caboose add-on.  Has 1930’s Buick motor & horn sound and is pulling a slightly altered Hartland gondola with scrap load.

#8a. “Stewart” – Model Die Cast Model A Ford coupe front Assembly with a Bachmann box car section, Aristo-Craft motor truck and lots of misc. parts.  Has Model A Ford motor and Ahooga horn sound and working lights.  Front truck is Bachmann box car.

#8b. Stewart's motor car as described in picture #8a above needed a transition car to bring the rear coupler to a standard height. This special flat car was scratch built to do just that. Created from a Bachmann under body frame assembly, basswood and popsicle sticks, Bachmann trucks with metal wheels, the remaining portion of the Bachmann Box Car from the Stewart car with a custom front using parts of a USA refer car, some old wheels and chain for looks, an Ozark Miniatures crane assemble kit and other misc. parts from the shop did the job quite well. The rear light is Ozark Miniatures and is battery powered.

#9. Motorized Model ‘T’ Ford railcar.  It all started with a metal cigarette lighter I picked up at a garage sale.  I created the truck looking details for the rear portion and used a small can motor for power.  I altered some Lionel wheels and added lights and miscellaneous detail items from the workshop.  It has to run quick and looks cute on any layout!

#10. GRITFY'S HELENA TRAIN: The locomotive - Started with An early BACHMANN PORTER, I added the rear portion of an AristoCraft 0-4-0 Switcher locomotive, complete with the floating rear axle assembly for additional balance and track pickups. The scratch built front and rear bumpers have details from Ozark Miniature's, a KaDee coupler on front and things from who knows where?

The tank car is a cut down Bachmann tank car, mounted on an LGB 4043 frame with Track Side Details, Gary Raymond's metal wheels and extraneous scratch built items added. It also houses the 'Sound of Steam' sound system and speaker.

The box car was created using a New Bright box car, significantly shortened, and mounted on an LGB 4043 frame also with Gary Raymond's metal wheels. It is also the home for Homer the hobo and his dog Shadow.

The 3 Gondolas are altered LGB 4045's with custom sides and paint, corresponding metal wheels and Hartford link & pin couplers.

The caboose was scratch built to the match LGB PORTER  locomotive design using sheet styrene.  It is also mounted on an LGB 4043 frame assembly complete with metal wheels and has steps and a track powered rear lantern from Ozark Miniatures.
